5410 5420 are they a good newer farm tractor any problems with them? They say they are anyhere from 65-80hp.

We have a pair of 5410's, one with the collar shift transmission, the other the PoweReverser. Both are excellent tractors - nimble, easy on fuel and start readily even at 0 deg.

Aside from routine maintenance items (batteries, etc) neither has required any service whatsoever in over 7,000 combined hours.

About my only complaint is they are somewhat loud (diesel rap) when working hard.

I had a 5410 w/MFWD for several years and it was a good tractor. Never had any problems with it. I sold it only because I wanted something with a cab.

We had a 2240 that we replaced with a 5325 for a loader tractor. We like it, the electronics can test your patience when you have to mash the clutch and try again with the reverser. I would agree it is loud but disagree and say that it seems to be kinda hard on fuel. Its the only JD tractor on the farm but the only small frame tractor that we liked.

irregardless of paint color look over the rear end and lift configurations ,case in point i was looking at 2 JD's the other day one was 80 hp range the other was 125 thing that caught my eye on the 125 was two linkages one on each side of the top of the rear end with a flimsily looking dust boot to shortly rupture an let water and what ever else in the housing ,not to mention the light weight looking lift system, the 80 was buy far a lot better design have noticed this on a lot of other brands also, suppose it depends on what country it made in.
