I was working on my wifes (hahaha) Allis c last night trying to make it run or at least make running noises. After letting the 6 volt battery sit forever on the charger I tried it a few more times when it quit turning over. In my infinite wisdom I thought I would just throw the battery charger onto the 6 volt/50 amp start mode. When I bent down to the floor and switched it the battery made a really loud bang as the top of it separated from the rest of the battery! There was a really high pucker factor there for a minute! Considering I had been just standing there running the starter rod by hand for how long with my head directly above the battery it could have been a bad deal. I guess it's time for a battery box and a lesson in safety.
