I haven't had a magraine headache in a long time. Anyway I had one today, just layed in bed most of the day. I had prescription medicine, but it was out of date by 4 years. Wife called the doctor and got the new prescription. After taking a couple pills I fees a lot better. Anyone else blessed with migraine head aches? Stan

was fer 1 year while Me and zee x was a heading our own ways, was the only time in my life. most x's are apita, Mine was a pain in zee head.

Marilyn will get them once in awhile. She goes around the house with her eyes half-open, then she goes to bed. Twice I had to take her to the emergency room where they gave her a knock out shot that made her stagger around like she was drunk. I don't envy anyone who gets one. Hope you get better quick. Jim

Have 'em on occasion.......several times a year; can always tell when they're coming because of the 'aura' in my field of vision. 2 or 3 Naproxen Sodium and the headache goes away.

Our 13 year old son had his first one tuesday at school. Was throwing up and almot fainted by the time wife went and got him. Took him to doctor and got some medicine. He is better now. I myself have only had one, knock on wood, and that was 20 some years ago. I remember it WAS not good! Glad you are feeling better. SHON

Had my first migraine when I was about 7. Had them until my late twenties.

There"s no pain like what you get with a migraine. Sorry for you.

Hope your son is better by now. It must have been terrifing for him to have this happen at school. This is the first time I didn't puke my guts out. Last time was when I had to leave work, before I retired. I just stopped in the road, and let fly. Stan

Got my first one in 85. remember it vividly, thought I had a brain tumor or something. Would get the visual disturbance aura in my eyes. If I vomited I would get immediate relief. The severity and frequency has gotten better over the years. Just had one last week first one in 6 months. Not tied to any triggers like stress or alcohol. Eliminated certain foods that are supposed to be triggers. Only possible ties I found were lunch meats with lots of nitrites and believe it or not, black licorice, which I love, (it messes with blood pressure). When they were at their worst I would go in the bedroom in total darknes and sit. The residual headache lasts two days. Two or three Migraine strength Excedrin and some coke helps the best.

In my early teens all the time. Went away for years then started getting them again, 1-5 a year the last 5 years. I've never got proper meds, I just layer the tylenol and gel cap advils as soon as I'm done the puking part and lay somewhere cold like the concrete floor.

Sure wastes a lot of time.

I suffered with them since childhood UNTIL my doctor introduced me to Imitrex. Take one as soon as you sense one is coming, and it knocked it out in a half hour or less. Now, haven't had a bad one for several years. I used to spend about one day out of ten in bed until late afternoon.

Have had them off and on for the past 40 years, Went to a pain specialist 2 weeks ago, he found my spinal cord was swelled up in side my spine. Gave me a shot in the spinal column, strapped me to a table, stood me on my head and I havn't felt this good in 40 years. Can now go back to working on my farm machinery and fixing it right.

(quoted from post at 20:23:59 10/07/11) A kidney stone will bring a whole new meaning to the word "pain".

It you ride your bicycle into a tree........that hurts real bad too!

My wife gets Migraines from eating food with MSG in them. Eliminate the MSG and she's fine...

A few years ago, I had migraine-like symptoms every day all Summer. Every afternoon I would have to go sit in my old recliner in the basement in near total darkness. I couldn't sleep and felt terrible. I really wondered if I was going to die!

I went to a bunch of doctors, and they did all kinds of tests--probably cost the insurance company $20K over that Summer. The doctors decided that I didn't have a brain tumor, or cancer, or a bunch of other stuff, but they never could come up with what was causing my symptoms. I got absolutely nothing done that Summer.

Then just before the first day of Fall, our weather changed from being super dry to being damp and cool. That afternoon, I didn't have a migraine, but the next afternoon, I did. That was the last one I have had, thank God.

Before that Summer, I had not had migraines before. Imitrex helped some, but I was told that I really couldn't take it every day. I tried other medications and even some folk remedies, but nothing helped much.

I still don't know what was going on with my health that Summer--maybe it was a virus or an unusual allergy, or maybe something completely unexplainable. But whatever caused it, it sure was awful. I have never felt so helpless in my life! It still puzzles me, and I fear the problem coming back.

I hope you feel better soon, and your migraine problems stay away. I feel for you--migraines are awful.
