OT: outside building painting

So what brand name paint has anyone found that holds up outside better then others ? or are they all not very good anymore ?

Small outside storage building with tongue and groove barn siding. Pressure washed most of the old paint off and have 2 coats of Zinnzer 1-2-3 bullseye primer on it so far. I was told the primer should be top coated , but really hate to get something that is no good.

Hi Mike M: I've been painting exterior every few years for decades. Sorry but I felt that Zinsser 1-2-3 was about the worst primer I have ever used. Pealed within 2 years on every building I had used it on. Early Spring of 2010 I spent several hours during one week on Google looking for "Best Paint" and all info points to two: Sherwin Willams and Benjamin Moore. I had a Ben Moore dealer nearby so thats what I used. Covered well and looks like it will do well longer term.. good luck..

Mike I've been using True Value paint for 40+ years. Get their premium paint. I would put it up against anything else.

I agree Sherwin Williams Duration has the best adhesion I"ve ever seen. I painted a house for somebody in February and the paint I got on my hands I had to soak in Lacquer thinner quite a while to get it off.
