Hey,
What do you (or the boss) have in mind for horses? Already got something picked out or are you shopping?
As for the fence, I'd love to have HT but it's considered a permanent fixture here and can't be used outside town limits (even on your own property  ).
If you don't want to clutter up the whole fence with flags or tape, just block off a corner 60 feet or so, flag it, and put some goodies on the fence to get them (horses) a good jolt or 2 then leave them alone a day or so/turn them out.
If they are freaks, no amount of flags is going to change it.....
Now, for some unsolicited advice.....Stay away from rescues, retired race horses, and anything that someone tries to use your soft side to unload on you...... Horses are usually cheap for a reason also. If you want something just to ride/enjoy, pick up a couple of draft horses or foundation bred quarterhorses or appaloosa's. Don't get a cutter, reiner, or halter horse (unless that's the direction you want to go). And enjoy a ride when you feel like throwing a saddle on (or not) without having to lunge/warm up (work the kinks out) for half an hour first.
And, above all else, lean to wade thru/weed out "expert" advice......
Enjoy,
Dave
