Bill Stevenson in PA is at it agian BEWARE

All in the honest tractor community, William " Bill" Stevenson is at it again. If you have been ripped off or just contacted by him call the West Newton PA police at 724-872-8610 or the Belle Vernon PA police at 724-929-7011. We need to get the word out and all contact with him must be reported. They will put him away again for a long time this time if all will step up and do our part.

He called saying that he had some tractors for sale, Shaw Du-All in response to an ad I had placed. He was selling cheap as he was cleaning out his dad's shed that was passed away.(Bill Senior has been gone for years) and Bill Jr. is not 62 years old like he says and acts. He promised cheap shipping as long as he got the payment for it he would ship out the tractors and then send the remaining balance after you receive the tractors. Of course no tractors will never show up and he gets the deposit for the shipping. He is very educated in tractors and sounds very legit, but he is far from it. It amazed me the wrap sheet this guy has. All my correspondence is turned over the State's attorney and the local police as they have prosecuted him once before. They are asking for anyone else to step up if they have been taken before or recently.

Maybe he need a knee adjustment with a baseball bat... My cousin from Jersey can take care of that for 2 large!!

Belle Vernon is right down the highway from here. I have never heard of this guy before. Is he trying to rope people from out of state or something?

Hopefully no one falls prey to that.

My dad believes he got scammed by William Stevenson of West Newton, PA a few days ago. Stevenson responded to my dad's ad in Wheels of Time magazine for a significant part needed for his antique truck. Same deal--just pay $250 shipping via Western Union so he can pay his trucker buddy and it'll be there in 7 days. If it's satisfactory, send the balance. Satisfaction guaranteed.

When my dad told me this too--good-to-be-true story that included Western Union, I immediately suspected a scam, found 1938Sears' post here and contacted my dad with the bad news. He reported it to his local (California) police department. Further discussions with victims and others have convinced me that Stevenson is doing this many, many people, probably on a daily basis.

The information he gives is his real name, William Stevenson. The cell phone number that he's currently using is (724) 797-8536. The number he gives for "Richard", his "trucker buddy" who "doesn't answer the phone when he's driving" is (724) 810-1199. Apparently, Stevenson answers ads that are some distance away so when the person realizes they've been scammed out of $250, it's not worth it to come to West Newton to dot his eye for him.

Other victims are encouraged to contact Officer Zemba at West Newton, Pennsylvania PD. Please FAX your information to him at: (724) 833-0019. Also, contact the publication where you placed your ad and tell them you were--or almost were--scammed so they can alert other readers not to wire money to anybody unless they have the item in hand. Since even money orders can be counterfeit, PayPal would be a more secure transaction.

I hope there are additional penalties waiting for him for commiting a crime against the elderly, in addition to wire fraud across state lines.

Placed add yesterday for lp super m parts.Two men called me that are legit. One though name was Bill said he had whole tractor they were parting out.I said I would takes all the Lp parts and come get them sat or just make offer on whole tractor.Asked him to get serial and he said no prob he would call me tonight.Well seems like when he knew I would drive to get them or the tractor He started backing out and NO phone call.I feellike he was fishing me out,and I seemed to know what I was doin and he got scared did not want to meet me in person that was obvious. Scammers are on point be carefull !!

Did get some parts from legit people just very carefully.
