Price of LP gas

Wondering what the price of LP gas or Butane is around the various parts of the country, $2.77 a gallon in NE louisiana.

I filled up three weeks ago for $1.99. Prices ranged from $1.99 to $2.99. I called several places four of them were $2.39 - $2.49 with Amerigas being the most expensive at $2.99, last year they were the cheapest. it pays to shop around if you can (I own my own tank)

Around here, if you switch suppliers, they are now charging 75.00 to inspect your tank and lines. They will not fill you with out this inspection being done. I have called all the suppliers in the area that I can think of, and they are all doing it. [central Iowa]

I just locked in a price of $2.29 per gal. for 1010 gallons to be delivered as needed this winter. This is with Amerigas in Columbia, TN.

I own my own tank and have switched vendors every couple of years in the past to get the best price, but the local vendors have all gone to the $75.00 testing when you switch to them, so I don't know how much switching I'm going to be doing in the future.

Tom in TN

I would Sure tell them to give you a FULL Warranty in writing, then if you have ANY problems, have them fix the problem and a Free Fill...

$2.07 for filling small tanks brought to the business location. Don't know about delivered- electricity is so cheap around here hardly anyone uses propane for household use.

It seems you don't know much about rules and reulations propane suppliers have to follow now days.

picked up a propane tank at auction 2 weeks ago---250 gallon for 150 bucks--went to load it and it was full, so about 60 cents a gallon with a free tank.

Called around Beaumont/Port Arthur Texas for the best price two weeks ago.Several suppliers wanted to charge a $75.00 fee for inspection. Most of them asked if I was a regular customer.I asked why do you ask and was told they could offer a better price ($1.90 vs $2.25) for their regular customers and wave the inspection fee. After three of them told me this crap I got fed up and asked the next guy if my money was as good as a regular customer.I also asked how in the sam hill did he expect to get a regular customer with a policy such as that, then hung up . Five minuts later he called back with the lower price and no fee.

Sid I read your post, I spent 14 years in the industry, my oldest son is now in the industry, Just for fum, we sat down and went over the 2011 regulations last month. I do know about the regs they have to follow.

what are you paying for electricity? I am 30 miles from niagara falls huge hydro facility and we are paying $.13.7 kwh. Bill in western ny.

p.s. $2.25 a gallon at the reservation for propane

About 4 and a half cents a kilowatt. "Read it and weep."

Most of our juice is from hydropower- once you pay for the dams, its pretty much free. Rain comes down, rivers flow, cycle goes on forever.

But take heart- if the tree huggers have their way, they'll jerk out all of our dams so the salmon can swim free, and we'll end up in the same boat as everyone else.

Never mind that there are so many wild salmon now (with intact adipose fins, as opposed to hatchery salmon whose adipose fins are removed) that you can't hardly get a fish to take home, because all wild salmon must be released. Ratio of wild to hatchery fish is running about 5 to one. But never mind that, the huggers (while singing a chorus of "Born Free") won't rest until the dams are removed and ALL the fish are wild. And we freeze in the dark.

Tom I am 70 mi west of you. I usually fill everything in the summer for best rates this summer was quoted $ 2.05 . Gameled and passed up because really we thought we had enough to go thru another year. They called Monday this week and offred delivred to the farm $1.87. Took them up on 730 gal today.

i just switched tanks and companies. $2 was the summer price. the other place was $2.88
....hit the road jack and dont come back.
bee--acchh.

I prebooked 250 gallons last month at $2.549. I asked around after I bought it and other people said they paid $1.99. I'm gonna keep a lookout for a used tank and tell them to come get theirs. Location in north Alabama.

Kum ba yah used to another popular song with the peace nickers and new age types. Until they discovered the words involved a God that wasn't in the trees, flowers and rocks.
They envision a perfect word as they stand singing on the hillside in white robes. Like the old Coca-Cola TV commercial version of ".I'd Like to teach the world to sing". Followed by a snack of yummy tofu.
No industry, no commercial farms, no cities, no vehicles, no aircraft. Pure Utopia ...........
The same environmentalists need to find something to complain about. Now wind, hydro electric and solar. To stay employed in their tax free charitable organizations. Funded via donations from bored or scared middle aged women. Who have zero clue where and how energy is obtained and transported.

About 16 cents a KW here with all the hidden charges, taxes, fees etc. Varies some with the time of use metering.
Local nuc power plant is 6 miles away. They sell it to the grid for 4 cents a KW.

Try Ontario.
They introduced a hodge podge of new rules on top of the old rules . In a knee jerk reaction and an opportunity to build another powerful government agency. After some fools blew up several square blocks of Mississauga performing a truck to truck transfer.

By the way, our price of electricity will be going up a little, because our Public Utility District is now required to buy 10% "green power". But isn't hydropower the "greenest" power there is? Well, sure, but they simply didn't include it in the definition, so we gotta get solar or wind from somewhere, and pay much more for it.

Guess the rivers don't have a lobbyist. . .
