Tractor hauling trailer

What is a fair price for a new trailer to haul 9,000 pounds? I bought a new tractor and my old trailer is too light to haul it.

I guess depending on what you want but what ive seen so far on my hunt for a trailer is anywhere from 4500-6000. I mostly have been looking a t a gooseneck but have looked at a few bumper pull trailers as well. the bumper pulls are not really that much less than a gooseneck. Mostly what Im finding that affects cost is if you want a dovetail what axle and tire combo and what kinda ramps you want, all steel or alumminum or steel and wood floor. Just my findings so far.

i live about 2 hour drive from Sikeston, MO. Trailer manufacturing capital of the midwest. Can get a 14,000 LB gross weight trailer made there for under $4,000

Go to tractor transporting on this site and click on drive over fenders. There is some discussion on trailers there.

You are going to want a 14,000# gvw trailer for that. (trailer will weigh 2500-3000 for a good one) You can get a nice one from Load Trail in 18'-20' (don't go any less than 18') w/spring assist fold-up ramps , led lights and all the heavy duty stuff for right around $4000-$4400 depending on dealer. PJ and some others will be slightly higher and gooseneck will be a little higher. Goosneck might be best for the kind of weight you are talking unless you have a 1 ton or dually and don't want the box tied up.

I have been looking at 14,000Lb. 24ft.-102" deck over dove tail bumper pull. I have looked Johnson trailers,Kaufman,Nomanco,JRC Custom and JP Trailers. They all fall in around $4,500.00-$5,200.00. One of the manufactures told me I could go to tri-axle with 6,000 Lb.axles for about the same cost. They said I would have better weight distribution with the the tri-axle.
