Observation of this Crew of Tractor Lovers

I would like to make an opinioned observation of this site and the people who give to it. Please take it with a grain of salt, as I don't want to be part of a "great big group hug"!
I've been reading the messages on Yesterday's Tractors for about 3 years. Participating in posting for a little short of a year.
When I get home at the end of the day, YT is the first site I check after the news and weather sites. World and weather first, good stuff next!
There are many different folks, varying ages, backrounds, and many other varying demographics; yet I have to say: What a great group of positive, strongly kind, (yea, it takes strength to be kind) knowledgable, enthusiastic people. There is very little flaming here. That alone raises the bar!
We have different sets of problems in our lives, and you still take time to help other enthusiasts; whether through a story, an opinion, a resource,( including yourself) a chuckle, or some compassion for a fellow human being.
So, "Crew of Tractor Lovers", thanks for the inspiration.
You have helped keep my H and myself chugging along.
Man, this Yuengling is tasty!
Dave

I must say that I agree with you, including having an H, plus a Cub and a Case SC
AND especially the Yuengling!
from Ashland, VA
Many thanks

This is my site of preference also. I do feel attacked by some of the individuals sometimes. I do not always get it right. It would be nice if people would think about how would I feel if someone responded this way before they posted.

Ahh Yes, the Yeunglings!! I recently celebrated my 87th. birthday!! My son brought me a case of Yeunglings, in cans, and then , the son of an old friend brought me a case of Yeunglings, in bottles, along with a cake, for my Birthday! Guess what i am sipping on right now!?

You are so right. This is one of the best sites that I look at. I really compare other sites to this site. It is well done for sure and they are good people to buy from. Top shelf all the way. I don't post much but I have learned a lot and have got a lot of good ideals. I love the photos and will post some of my own for other people to see. Thanks to all that make this site so good and to the people run it.

Dave . I could not agree more.. Being 67 years old you learn to temper your thoughts with compasion. I read this almost every night, little hard for me to post my tru thoughts sometimes. It is just hard for me to see people spending money on some of the older tractors but then that is what life is about. Been a tractor dealer for 30 + years and still learn from this site.

I am proud of my H, was my fathers, and do not mind spending money on it. He really enjoyed it and did not really take care of it in his later years.

I realize I will never recoup the financial investment, but the memories are priceless.

I must say that I agree with your observation 100%. I stumbled onto this site about six months ago and became hooked. As I have stated in other posts, I grew up with a fascination and love for automobiles and farm machinery but left the farm when I graduated from high school. Well, not really, I helped Dad on the farm when he needed it for about fifteen years until he sold the farm. I thought I knew quite a bit about farm equipment 'til I found this site. I learn something new every time. I have always felt that farmers and those related to farming have more compassion for their fellow man and are more willing to help than many others. I think it is because we get to witness the miracles of nature first hand.

Yeunglings, I think I've heard of it but never have tried it. Now I'm getting curious.

Cake and beer reminds me of a story dad told. Back during the war he was picking corn for a farmer on a cold November day.(remember the 'Old A'?) He was chilled to the bone when the farmer brought out lunch. The farmer said his wife had gone to town and all he could find for lunch was some cake and she wasn't there to make coffee so he brought cold beer instead. So dad graciously choked it down but it sure didn't warm him up. Jim

They should call this something other than the Tractor talk section.. Maybe something like
"The feed sack" so others would not be so upset with all the off topic posts.

Heck I remember the old feed mill where people would come in just to chat and hash out tractor/machinery problems or fix a water pipe. grab a friend or two to go help with neutering a few pigs.. Always someone willing to give their time.

Also remember a little general store where the guys would get together near the old pot bellied stove and solve many other problems that had to deal with farming.

Tractors isn't the main ingredient to be a farmer. Some would have left the trade long ago if it wasn't for the fellowship to show that their burden is shared by many people striving and suffering through bad crop years, or loss of some animals, a family member.

The most important thing in farming is the family that puts all their faith in God to help him grow and prosper without questioning Him.

This along with a true friend relationship toward others (being helpful to the best of his ability) will get a lot further than guys like the few trolls we do have on here.

Even though a lot of these subjects do stray off tractors, they still get attention when a question arises OT subjects also get many good replies from Law to a water tank. If it weren't for the good folk right here many of my indirect non farm related questions would have went by the way side.

I do thank those folks that did help me when others thought I was in the "wrong room".
I thank YT and Chris and Kim for being a bit gracious with letting us post semi off topic stuff on here.

Those by the pot belly solved the Worlds troubles also but those in power didn't listen before they bugg**ed it up.

I've been on "YT" from the vary beginning,And have made many friends, "Most" of the folks here are just plain great, I don't pay much attention to the "old crabs". I spend a lot of hrs. on here and have learned a lot from the good folks. I'd be lost with out it !! Just keep it coming !! Jim in N.M.

I just hate happy people.. its against my religion to smile. (grumpy)

I have read your postings & bet a cup of coffee that you smile more than 36coupe.

I am a newbie to posting on this forum, but since I recently bought a Ford 961 to mow with, I have scanned all the way back to day one through the Ford forum, including the archives reading anything and everything that looked like it might be relevant and informative.

What a bunch of knowledgeable people!
If someone on here doesn't know how to fix / do it, it can't be done!
I am now starting to read through some of the other topics, and will also go completely through them to find items of interest.

Thank you all for the best source of information on tractor related / farming issues on the internet. The few curmudgeons on here are pretty mild compared to many other forums.

greed Bought the Super M recently because it was the tractor we had growing up.Havent told Pops I have it yet.Gonna restore then just pull up in front of his house with it.Money will be no object compared to the look in his eye when He sees Ol Girl back in our possesion. That is why I do it and I just love Farmalls .Keeps me happy and out of the bars so the boss does not mind either.Working on these old tractors is prolly not worth it if ur trying to make money, but when you see a grown man or young boys eyes light up when they see it you will forget how much money you have in Ol Girl
