The old gal next door feeds the birds and the squirrels and this guy loves it he as his own smorgasbord of course she's not real thrilled with him. I'm seen him snatch birds right off the feeder.

Hawks are very interesting to watch, leave it be. It probably covers a wide territory and delightes a lot of other people. If your neighbor doesn't want the hawk around, she should stop feeding the song birds.

A small sharp-shinned hawk visits my back yard from time to time. Conversations end, people just stop what they're doing to watch it. It sometimes takes a sparrow or a house finch, nothing too desirable.

Anytime you feed song birds, squirrels will find a way get some of the food, and hawks will hunt around the bird feeders. That's just part of nature. Enjoy its show.

good pic! we have several different species over here and you'll sometimes see one of each near or on the same field. The ones that fastenate me are wasp hawks (honey buzzards), they'll stir up a nest then set and catch the bees as they come out. Then dig for the goodies.

Mickey didn't fare too well on the trip down south. Lost one of his ears. That's okay. I've got a chuck roast in the freezer waiting for Mickey and a few of the others.

Grilled taters & onions sound real good, too. Maybe some okra if I can find it.

Thanks!!!

If she has a tree with low hanging limbs she could feed under it and the hawk won't be able to bother the birds as much. Wish he would get a squirrel occasionally.
