GONE TO THE DOG

Son brought my Dog to see me today She is a Border Collie-Blue-Heeler Cross. Was not sure how she would react. She did well and all of the inmates loved her. Just proves a well bred dog if properly trained can do a lot of things. She will take on the meanest cow and here she was letting the oldsters pet her. gitrib

It sounds as though you are adapting quite well to your new living quarters, towing folks with your electric scooter now you're bringing in live entertainment. Its great to hear you're enjoying yourself.I like your name for the other tenants " inmates " that's great.Enjoy yourself and I'm looking forward to reading more of your antics.

Sounds like your you, son and your dog made the day a little brighter for many. I wonder how many of the residents are telling this story to their families tonight. Jim

You seem to be adapting well to captivity  Bet the wife is glad to have you in the same cell.... What is the possibility of your son having your dog enrolled in some type of therapy animal program and you getting to keep her with you if she would be happy???

My family has had Border Collie's for 35+ years. Smartest dogs we have ever experienced. They do have very high energy levels and require lots of time and attention. They can be trained to do most anything (within reason).
Good luck,
Bill.

A Border Collie is the smartest dog Ive had over the years. We watched Border Collies working sheep,The handler always says the Border Collie is not a good pet.He is dead wrong. My first Border Collie did not like to ride in the truck. My second dog Gus loves to ride.He knows the word ride and truck. He likes tv when dogs are shown and can show you when he wants the tv turned on.He rings a small bell hanging by the kitchen door when he has to go out.He comes to me and barks when his water bowl is empty. He is a very active dog but spends time lying on his back on the couch fast asleep.

Glad you got to see your dog.

Sounds like everyone had a great day with her.

Is she the one in the irrigation sprinkler video?

Maybe you can share the video with us again.

I had a border collie once that i think was smarter than most people!he never really got along much with small children though,he would if you didnt watch him close snap at them.grownups, teenagers and things he was fine with.i dont know why he never liked kids much, but even as a pup he wouldnt go near them.

The Border Collies Ive had were very different in Nature.I asked a woman who had several Border Collies if the females made better pets. She said no.Gus does not like the noise an ironing board makes when its opened up.He trys to attack it.These dogs can read your moods and watch you constantly.Gus knows if I am going somewhere if I look in my wallet or check book.Shaving or changing clothes tips him off that you may be going to use these car or truck. He gets all excited. If you say GUS you cant go today,he quiets down and looks sad.
