We have to sell a 2 acre parcel to the state for the hyway 14 expansion near North Mankato, Mn. We have not yet entered into negotiations. 15 years ago when the state put in some turn lanes on said piece they broke one of two drain tiles serving this piece. Ever since, there is a corner about the size of your kitchen that is always wet except in extreme dry years. In the last 15 years I have only harvested a crop from that little coroner maybe 3 times. Now this week they surrounded an area maybe three times as large and marked it with pink flags that say "wetland delineation" I have never heard that term and don't know what it means. I looked the word up in dictionary but really cannot connect the dots. Can some one ex plane to me what's going on?
 
basically it means youre up the smelly creek without a paddle or canoe...i been through it before...wetlands fall under federal protection and nobody but the gubmint can do anything to change the land...you can raise ducks or fish on it.

Ya gotta find out what the class is. We have both class A&B on our farm. Can't do anything with the class A at all and that even stops the state from doing anything with it. West MN here and a highway runs through the property. They held up repaving the road for several years because of that. They wanted to extend the shoulders one foot on each side. On the south side they were good but they could not get the go ahead on the north side because of that.

Delineation is to define, or mark out, identify borders, the area which is said to be a wetland, and thus comes under government regulation. Interesting that you use the phrase "connect the dots". If you connect the flags with a line, that defines their delineation.
 
And you will never make them understand that it was dry before the tile was broken. You are at the begining of alot of wasted tex money!!!!!
