My winter project

I got it. 500$ its a 1952 Farmall M it runs great shifts great. Needs the carb rebuilt or replaced and a lot of electrical work. A set of tires and s front wheel bearing then a coat of paint. I think I got a good deal and it will give something to do this winter. :)

When I first looked at it it started right up I drove around through all the gears it worked great. The next tome we went to start it we had lots of trouble. Finally the third time it would not start at all. Narrowed Down the problem to the carb. Sure enough we got it off and some one at some point tried to work on it but when they reasembled it they put the float in wrong and it was rubbing the side so
Now it has a hole In it. But the first time when it started it ran great but now a friend of a friend supposedly was a good carb guy said he would rebuild it for me the next day he brings it back in peices and says he dosnt have time to fix it. But I'm sure I'm missing alot of parts now I'm hoping i can get them with out having to buy a néw carb.

(quoted from post at 19:30:23 09/24/11) I think you're still WAY ahead at $500 for a 52 M. Great tractor. I'd be tempted to get one at $500!!

LOL I've got one.......about the only thing it's good for the the hay rake and manure spreader. All my other impements require 2 way hydraulics, 3 point and or more HP! I wouldn't touch one if it was free! They were a great tractor in it's day or even now if you spend lots of money to add live hydraulics and a 3 point.....and maybe power steering. But I'm working with my stuff.
