Is a 340 to small for one?? Ya I know a tad bit light but only have a small area to do and it is just sitting there and the other bigger tractors are hooked up to other machines. Or do O just bite the bullet and switch the 340 to the hay rake and the WD45 to the baler but the 340 would be a fast easy hook up and the WD45 a pain to hook up for so little an area

Yes the 340 IH has live PTO that is one of the reasons I was thinking about trying it. Learned many many years ago non-live PTO tractors and balers do not mix well

Why not you just do a single mower swath windrow that way you can get 15-16 slices per bale and they will be firm those 10 slice bales just arent verry good.

Ya know, i'm not familiar with what a 340 is? We paired a IHC 300 and a 270 NH for decades, great match at 35 hp & the 10 speed of the TA and the live pto. Always pull a wagon or bale basket behind it....

Should be good with live/ind pto. Little light on hills or with wagon behind, but people have used less....

Don't know how the NH compares to my Welger, but my little 26 HP tractor doesn't miss a beat, just have to go a little slower but eats up some pretty full windrows.

The area I will be baling is for the most part flat and will not have a wagon behind since I do not even have a wagon sort of hard to pull what you do not have LOL

Old dad bailed rolling hills with a AC CA rated at 23 HP and about 2500 pounds just fine with no wagon with a NH 68 then a JD 24T. Sure had to go in 1st or 2nd but it did the job. Your 340 at 35 hp and 3900 pounds should be able to just play with that.

Most years I have it behind my D-17 but since it is on brush hog duty figured I would just hook it up to what I have sitting with out something hooked to it
