How do you guys carry your cell phones? I have just got a cell phone (I know that's weird in itself). When I carry my cell phone in my front pant pocket; it's going to get broken when I bend over a hog fence or pick up a wheel weight. If I put it in a belt clip I'm afraid it's going to fall off like my tape measure when I bend my leg.

Then put it in your back pocket, and the worst to come is what they call a "butt dial". Yep, I get one every now and then. Mine - I carry it in the watch pocket on my Levi's and work as carpenter, mechanic, etc. The only time I lose it is when I take Levi's off at night, lay over the end of sofa in bedroom and it falls out. A good way to find a misplaced phone in home or shop is to have someone call you.

Shirt pocket. I used to carry it on my belt with a lockable clip untill I lost it while rolling an ashpalt driveway with a homemade roller behind my tractor.Yea it was history!

Belgian,

I bought a nylon pouch at Home Depot that attaches to my belt via a belt loop. The phone slides into and out of the pouch and the pouch has a flap that goes over the top of the phone.

It's very good. I've tried clipping the phone onto my belt, carrying it in a pants pocket, and carrying it in a shirt pocket. For me, the pouch works best.

If it's a flip phone, it probably doesn't matter, but if the keys are exposed, it's always best to "lock" the keypad after each use.

Good luck,

Tom in TN

I have carried one for at least 20 years now.I have lost, broken and soaked my fair share.
The best way I have found to careyone is in a pouch on my belt with velcro flap.
As I remember, my first phone looked like mamma's
hand bag and weighed about5 lbs.

I have a clip holster mine slides into. With the phone in the holster, I slide the phone inside my front pocket, and hook the clip outside the pocket. Fits nice and close to my leg, letting me know I haven't lost it..... YET!!!

Shirt pocket. Every shirt needs two pockets and long sleeves. And if the maker does not have that much cloth on hand they should wait til they do.

Clips on my belt. It's spring loaded so It can't come off like a tape measure. It's in a pouch to protect it against everything I brush up against.

I used to carry it in my shirt pocket, but as a plumber it would fall out into the toilet tank when I removed the lid to inspect the innards. Water is very hard on phones.

Dickies brand canvas work pants, double pocket on leg by right knee, inside one works great for carrying the phone.

Shirt pocket isn't such a good idea. Google "cell phone battery explosions" and several articles come up describing deaths caused by this. Batteries can blow up with enough force to break ribs and pierce heart. In one incident involving a Chinese man, an artery in his neck was severed by shrapnel and he bled to death.

Y'all have a good weekend!

If I am around home I usually have Carhart jeans on with a little pocket down on my thigh that works great for the phone. Out of the way for the motions you are worried about. Don"t like the back pocket, tore out several rear pockets from carrying phones when they were bigger. Will use my shirt pocket when I have meetings and am dressed business casual, but don"t like it. Once was packing an item to ship and had the phone fall out without my noticing right into the box. Sealed it up and a week later had a call from the recipient asking if I wanted my phone back.

Phones have become substitutes for laptops in many ways and are increasing in size after years of shrinking. I sometimes wish for a very small phone again.

Small digital camera case with belt loop and zipper. Keeps it clean and can only come out when I want it to.

I've had suggestions to where some people can stick their phones! I've carried mine in my front pants pocket for 5 years now and had it beak a month ago. Not bad odds for me. If I carry it on my belt or pocket it gets in the way of my tool belt at work. At far as leaning over a panel and breaking it, it usually gets awful uncomfortable before it breaks lol. You just get used to where you carry it and learn what to look out for.

Ive carried one in my front pants pocket for 10 years there tuff and can take just about any abuse, top pocket of the bibs in the winter. Just got my second one this summer cause the battery was shot on my first one, the case didn't have any finish left on it, it was wore that bad. Thousands of bales of hay and lots of tractor weights at the pulls every year.

Leather pouch on my belt. One with a loop, not a clip. Clip type pop off too easy, or break. Had no luck with them. Just a good strong simple belt pouch is best.

Found a leather cigarette pack pouch laying in the street years ago. Cut a couple of slots in the flap for the belt, Deep enough it works great. Takes a lot of wear also.

Front pants pocket. I figure after all these years I have not busted a can of Cope in there a phone will be fine. I did kill one at work by drop'n it in my shirt pocket, then bent over clean'n up a 13% bleach leak when it fell out.

Main reason I have not jumped on the smart phone bandwagon is becasue they don't fit in my pocket as well as my old tundra flip phone.

pouch with loop, not clip on belt on right hip. vibrate is set high enough so that i feel it also has an extra plastic buckle holder for the cover that I can secure in addition to the velcro when in severe conditions, like crauling around under machinery

I throw mine in the passenger seat or a variety of other places, then claim I never got the call. I can openly admit this as on next Friday I will be retired from the USCG, and won't care if they know.

Very seldom. Trying to get used to it. Got the TracFone only because of heart issues. BTW- how do you spell 911? just curious!

I have a holster that threads onto my belt, believe its made by CLC, has a flip down velcro that keeps the phone secure and has easy access.

Don't know if it's possible for you folks, but you can put your card in any phone. Had the same worries as you and now have a cheap samsung clamshell phone that is 11/2 by 3 inches. Got some industrial velcro, and stuck a strip of the fuzzy stuff on the phone and the stick strip on the steering column of the vehicle, dash of tractor, tank of quad, keyboard by housedoor, (and you get the picture). Phone slips in a pants pocket or bib chest and I just stick it where I need it if on something. It don't get damaged from the pocket when it is closed, and it has bigger buttons so I can see it.
Mine's like this one without a camera (thinking about getting this one so I have a camera).

I carry mine in my left front pants pocket, don't see how you could break it picking something up.

Haven't carried one since I retired. But have one in truck in case of emergencys . along with a ham radio That will also call 911.

the ones that my wife insisted i carry are either in the pasture somewhere or at the bottom of a pond,"accidentally of course".put it in your shirt pocket, thats the best place, they fall out much easier there LOL!

Carry mine in a clip type holder on my right hip, just behind my knife. I've had the same style phone and holder for nearly 10 years now and except for it flipping over and opening up (it's a flip style)on occasion it's never given me any trouble. The main thing is I carry it for my convenience, no one elses, so if I'm where I think I might lose it, etc it stays in the cab or gets clipped to the door on the service bed where my other tools are. Either way it's close if I need it and usually where I can hear it ring to either answer it if possible or just know it rang so I can call a customer back.

Never carry one. Can't work with one hanging on. Couldn't call nine-eleven with mine anyhow - it doesn't have an 11 button.
