3020 JD question

A friend is getting a 3020 jd with a front end loader. I dont know much about them, what are the good points and the bad points about these tractors??? I dont know the year of it wether that matters or not. Thanx in advance....Lyle
 
Nice tractors, not overly powerfull, but gets the job done. The have great hydruliacs and power steering. Out wide front 3020 turns as sharp as our 630 narrow.

That being said, i hope it doesnt have a gas engine. Our first 3020 was gas and was a dog and would eat oil like its was it fuel!!!
 
As for the syncro range transmissions, you can't beat them in
the 20 series tractors even through the bigger the tractor, the
harder they were to shift. We had 2- 5020's and they had
long handles and were hard to shift than the ones with short
shift handles. Just a thought.

Ive had mine 15 years. Im primarily hay guy so its mainly used for mowing and haying.. Been a great tractor..starts up hot or cold.. its a gas..now that I know I would have bought diesel. Mine is a powershift..loveit..but sync isnt that bad.. With a front end loader have him check the front axle on it for welds and or breaks. Some of these had lighter fronts on them yet folk still put loaders on em.. my two cents..
