the guys I'm helping chop corn this year have a bad freon leak in a 6910 JD CHOPPER, I charged it and it lasts only a day. Does anyone have experience with these, I cant find a leak in the outside of the system so I'm thinking of going into the cab (expansion valve and evaporator) and looking there If anyone has any idea how to open up the inside of the system. I have no book and don't know for sure how to get to the evaporator I would like to get it right the first time since we are using it now. Thanks.

The ac/heater is under the buddy seat. It is not that hard to get too. Actually easier than in the older roof mounted ones. Pull the plastic box/manual holder out of the rear of the buddy seat and you can see how it all comes apart. It is the same cab as the combines use. Just with different wiring.

Look for oily spots on the hoses, condenser, and compressor. You could try using soapy water in a squirt bottle. When you chare it up, use 1 can that has leak tracer dye in it. On large leaks, you should be able to see it pretty easy without a black light and amber glasses.
