Hi everybody this weekend is going to be my first pull with a farmall 350. The assoc. hosting thepull uses a tranfer sled and so my question is, what gear should I pull in? I no you want to get some momentum from the start but you dont want to dog out down the track..... so any ideas?

This being your 1st Pull, you cannot go wrong, using 1st Gear..
If you are completely Stock, you may not spin-out, but run out of power even in 1st..
You don't have any idea how much weight needs to be out front, etc..
The 1st few pulls will teach you a lot about your tractor and how to position the weights and set tire pressures..
HAVE FUN..THAT is the main thing..!!!

Any pull that I would pay any atention to all require first gear only, anything else will disqualify you. Set the drawbar at 17" so will clear most pull requirements 18" rule, that will allow for a bit of ground hump where they do the measuring. And some pulls do not alow any front weights and only 2 weights per rear wheel and you do not have the power to need more weight. Actually if you set the drawbar at 16" you may do better by actually letting you keep the front end down and having more control. That tractor should pull about like a Farmall M. Do you have the standard straight drawbar or only the fast hitch drawbar, the fast hitch drawbar has to be locked down so it cannot move. Been running the lineup crew at pull for over 10 years. Had to disqualify several tractors.
