We have had 2 trail cams stolen . 1 last nov. and one the other day . We are 99% sure who did it but ya cant go busting down doors . We are wanting to set a trap with a broken camera and thinking a gps tracking device in it or is there a real small camera that could be setup to catch them in the act that would be easy to hide . Any ideas would be helpful .

I'd set up a dummy camera that's easy to find and another real one pointed at the dummy. Thats not easy to find.

Put the real cam up in the tree pointing straight down at the dummy. They would/should have no reason to look up. Catch them in the act. Set the timers to the minimums and try to get multiple shots. One that records short video would even be better.

i have a mouse trap with about 3 inches piece of 1/2 copper tubing one end pinched shut , other end rubber plug fits in, nipple for Black power cap soldered in middle of it. when it springs , the wire hits the nipple , pretty darn big bang . You can hide it , screw it to tree , etc. Fish line to camera . I used to set it on back of out house rigged to the door for deer camp , scared the 22 outta newbies ! lol

Might try a couple of bear traps . Wouldn't be to much of a problem to find the limping culprits. Just make sure No Trespassing on property. Best of luck .

Try hiding a trail cam at the entrance/exit to the property. I had vandals stealing parts from implements, tearing up tree stands etc. Hid a cam by the gate and got the truck and guy in it.
