Save it or scrap it?

I picked up an AC Gleaner combine at an auction. No engine, otherwise "cute." Is it a sin to relegate something like this to the tractor heaven in the sky or can I just go ahead and turn it into scrap metal?

If it had the engine id say keep it, or sell me the engine. Can you find a use for anything on it. Say for example gear boxes or tin?

Side note: Why did you buy it if you had no use for it and going to scrap it? Just curious as to why others buy things they dont need, like me!

Not much there to scrap it's all sheetmetal. The enine was the only salvagable part.

Many of the Gleaner self propelled combines had good belt driven hydraulic pumps that would work well for a log splitter. You could probably sell rams and components to someone wanting to build one.

Back axle might make a nice wide axle for putting under small buildings to move if you added a tongue.

Lots of bearings to salvage if you build homemade things. Also nice long shafts around the header.

If it has a cab can you sell it to someone whose child has to wait by the road for a school bus? Beats standing out in the weather.

Lots of parts to use if you think outside the box.

AT farm auction... No engine. Paid $225. Can't pass up a deal....Ok I'm addicted! It did force me to get a cutting torch (first one in my life) I decided to save the tin side with the writing on it for a sign for my organic truck farm. I will add the word "acres" and call it Gleaner Acres.....In memory of the little o'le combine.
