case model L

can anyone tell me the horsepower on a 1937 model L case

The only thing I could find on a L was on distillate and that was 48 hp on the belt at the Nebraska test. I found tests with both distillate and gas on a later LA which was the same bore and stroke as a L. The LA was also 48 hp on distillate and 58 hp on Gas so my best guess would be close to 58 for a late L on gas as well.

When I put my stock "L" on the dyno a few years back it was putting out 44 hp. I think it was rated at 38. Mine is a 1930.
