Anyone ever have Endovenous Laser Ablation, kind of a catheter-laser to seal up a vein, used to treat varicose veins actually, mine in particular is just a small section on the top of the foot, nothing like the video below, ultrasound says the valves are not working in the right leg, sounds like a good plan, less invasive then surgery, just wondering if anyone ever had it done and how it worked out. Get to start my day off with this tomorrow, just a slight bit uneasy about it, looks simple enough, hey well at least its not a colonoscopy LOL !!!!

Been causing me a lot of grief in the leg and foot, and not so good when sitting on the tractor, making work no fun etc., kind of tractor related, thing needs someone healthy to run it ! LOL !

Downside is compression stockings, kind of a new apparel to have to wear, and bit expensive, but supposed to help support the vein walls, being on ones feet all day does have its drawbacks, hopefully I'll get out of the shop without a hitch ,just be wearing pantyhose.... sheesh! LOL!

Upside is, supposed to go away almost immediately, this ought to be interesting !

Good luck Billy NY,I don't know anything much about that but good luck. This procedure sounds great if it works.

I had laser vein surgery four years ago I was 32. The vein in my right leg wasn't working right. I had the procedure done on the vein from my ankle to my groin. The doctor also removed about a dozen vericose viens by making small incisions in my leg and pulling them out kinda like a hook/latch sewing kit. I had it done as an outpatient procedure the pain was minimal I went back to work a couple days later and only took a few ibuprofen. I do remenber the most painful part was straightening my leg after sitting down for a while 15 min or more. It seemed like the vien was shrinkng/shriveling up and it had to pull itself back out when I straightened my leg. Anyhow four years later no pain and I'm glad I had it done.

That was the other alternative, vein stripping, you can opt for either, the laser is much less invasive, no general anesthesia. Appears to be straight forward, the leg has been sore, cramped really hard to describe, no visible signs except the 2" section on the foot, which seems to be where all the trouble starts, left leg feels great, right one, just not right, this ought to do the trick, will have to post the results later, almost time to leave now ...

Neither did I til last week, just one of those things, been going on awhile, nice to get er done. The handout they give you kind of has a creep factor, with some of the remote side effects possible, but highly unlikely, probably worse to read that, then the procedure, thanks for the vote of confidence, ought to work out fine me thinks ! LOL !

Made it back, Xanax they prescribed helped to stay relaxed, they sure do stick you about 2 dozen times, strange sensations in the still numb leg, ibuprofen for a week they say, some other odds and ends, well sure is a nice day to be off, sun finally came out, they say to walk as much as possible to prevent clotting, not bad at all, even saw no calcification and or plaque in the arteries, all is well that ends well so far, seems like its relieving the problems already.
