as posted a few weeks ago we have sold our home and moving out onto our land. will be living in a garage apartment until we get our new home built. at age 64 and wife's age 62, it is a difficult task to relocate, however, we are returning home. with 44 years of marriage, 2 sons, 2 granddaughters and the past 16 years in 1 place, we have accumulated a lot of stuff. yes we have found it difficult to rid ourselves of things but some items have been given away or tossed. please pray for us, especially the wife peggy. it is physically, mentally and emotionally a tough thing to accomplish. movers are scheduled for tomorrow with furniture and most belongings stored. may write a book titled "life in a box". good thing, parents, children, grandchildren and tractor is close at hand.

Moving is not easy even if you have professional movers who pack, load, transport, and unpack.

Major headache, back ache, etc.

May the Lord bless you with peace.

thanks nancy! we packed and moved the boxes. movers for the furniture. last year we moved my mom into a nursing home so we kinda knew what we were facing. however, the reality is here, ready or not.

its raining here,so work was called off, I just got back from donating my moms clothes to the amaerican vets, We kept some of her clothes here at my house and took them to her as the seasons changed because the closet was small at the nursing home. My wife did my moms laundry every week, there was a bag of clean laundry in the laundry room,I had to go donate it ,looking at it made me sad,my mom is gone now, Good luck with the moving, and keep us posted.... Larry, I follow your posts. I'm sorry of your mother's loss. We all go through this....as I did too. One thing I can tell you, "You WILL remember all the things she told you you were supposed to do", from as far back as you can remember.

Back in 1990 I sold the house we lived in for 15 years. With 3 kids we had accumulated a lot of stuff. We had planned on building a new home before we moved but the house sold within 2 days of being on the market and they wanted possession within 30 days. We started on the house right away. I laid the blocks for the foundation myself. My wife and youngest son mixed the mortar and the older son carried blocks for me as I laid them. We were all about dead by the time we finished that but we had saved about $1000 at that time doing it ourselves. I also built the house myself with the help of my wife and kids and did my own plumbing. We had the roof on and had it ready for sheetrock with one bathroom in in the basement plumbed and usable by the time we had to move out of the other one. I put rods up in the garage to hold the cloths and sort of made little rooms. We had the stove and refrigerator working out there and had the couch and tv set up also. The beds we put in the basement and thats where we slept. We lived that way till it was completed. I don't know how we did it but we managed. The kids still talk about the adventure they had. I don't think we could ever do it again though. Good luck on your move.

Larry,
I also follow your comments and really enjoy your pictures. Sorry for your loss. I know that time will help you remember the good times and dull the hurt. At least it did for me. Saying my prayers for your family.
Paul
