I HAVE A CHANCE TO BUY A ALLIS WD, BUT THE TRANS SHIFTS GOOD IN 1&2, BUT HARD TO GET INTO 3&4, DOESN"T GRIND, JUST WON"T GO INTO GEAR. ANY IDEAS?

That could be a number of problems. One is simple lack of fluid in the transmission and or water in it which can rust up things. Also could have a worn out shifter and that would also cause that type of problem.

Have a WD on the farm that is very hard to find and shift into 3rd gear. Been that way since it was purchased new in 1951. Nothing "wrong" with its just hard to find 3rd gear on it.
