I don't think you should be out in that field now. Let it dry down, mow and sell for some nice oat hay.

Always frustrating when a harvest doesn't work out.

Where are you again, sure is green looking oats this late in the year, you cutting it for grain or hay?

We used to be wet here in S MN, but rain shut off 7 weeks ago and dried up dry, beans are really suffering, corn was probably hurt a little too.

Im in NW Alberta, could not get in the field until mid june, just to wet. Im gonna make green feed, hopefully I can sell it to at least pay for the fuel I used. There is lots of hay in the area this year. The last couple of years its been dryer then a popcorn fart...

Just a reminder to everyone on this board that there is the "Using your Tractor/Crop Talk" Forum near the bottom of the Forum List. Good spot for these crop discussions.

If you don't need the feed, and are only hoping to sell it for enough to recoup costs, you're just "spinning your wheels" (literally, it looks like) and wearing out your equipment. I'd give it up for the winter, and hope it dries down enough in the spring to plow.
