on my last trip down the mountain with load of 110k, going 25 mph, 3 cars behind me, going around curves etc, double yellow lines, finally the 4x4 behind could wait 200 ft more for the broken yellows to pass, no, he was in a hurry, didn't want to wait 30 more seconds, passes me on double yellow on curve,,guess who was behind him going slow with me...yep unmarked trooper, boy will that 4x4 driver be later than they think...made my last trip worth while...

Idiots. And I suppose was it your fault for him getting the ticket because you were holding HIM up!Kinda like the cop is the bad guy for "giveing" a ticket for driveing 70mph in a 30 zone!

Don't it make you feel good when justice is served?
A few years ago I pulled onto I-85 out of Greensboro heading for Durham. I noticed there was no traffic. Then I noticed in my rear view a line of traffic about a quarter mile behind. Pretty well knew what was going on. The F-700 I was driving was governed to 60 so they caught up with me in a bit. Sure enough, there was a trooper in a Mustang leading the pack. He was holding a steady 65. Well, when most of the vehicles got past me, here came a van with New Jersey tags past me and whipped in front of me and was gone. About five miles down the road, yep, he was on the side with the hidden blue lights blinking on the Mustang! Made my day!

The road to our house in Dallas has two bridges, hills and curves. A lot of it is marked for no passing. Speed limit is 40, most people drive it at 50+.

I have been passed on every foot of that road - bridges, hills, curves. Rarely see an officer on that road.

City could make lots of $$$ if they would patrol that road more.

I was creeping into a traffic circle driving my loaded triaxle dump during the busy morning commute. There was a state trooper about three cars behind me. A small car entered from the opposite side at about the same time. Like many others he seemed to think that right of way is determined by rate of acceleration, so he came barreling around the circle intent on getting in front of me. I didn't let up and he had to go up on the grass center of the circle. I watched in my mirrors and chuckled to myself as he drove back onto the road and the cop took off after him.

oh yea; if it was up to them i would be a fault for their stupidity, lol,,,they are in such a hurry, they should leave 1/2 hour earlier, then they would be in front of me, still getting a ticket for speeding on the way to Starbucks..lol

Kinda makes me laugh at the folks calling a ticket a back door tax......if ya ain't breaking the driving laws ya don't pay that tax......ergo it ain't a tax! If ya can't do the time don't do the crime!

The ones that get me are when on a 4 lane highway, say running 60 mph, and they come up behind me like I'm sitting still and wait till the last second to pull out and pass. Have had the big rigs do the same thing.

Rick,You must not have any aggresive towns around you.1 or 2mph over stops=$150-$200 fines,35-40mph speed limits 2-3 miles out in farm country from town proper which may not even have access directly to the 4 0r 6 lane highway. The town might only be 1/8 mile thru it but they have 5 and 6 patrol cars and 10 to 20 Patrolmen. And NO,I have never got caught in one yet but I watch out for them and their hidden signs. Some of their incomes are in the 6 and 7 fiqure range.

We have solved the problem here in Kentucky.
We have laws..about the same ones you have.
But we don't enforce any. See no evil, hear no evil..etc.
If a tree falls in the forest does it make a sound? If a driver speeds, or runs a red light, or passes on a double yellow but a cop doesn't see it is it a violation? Apparently not!

We have now assigned all officers to paperwork and accident reports. You never see a cop on the road unless there is an accident. Then you will see 6 cops (and 6 cars) 3 EMS units, a firetruck or 2, and a mobile TV truck. Reports might take most of the day.

The only cop I ever see on my way to work is the one that parks behind the hedge at the church lot to read the paper and nap. He needs to find a thicker hedge.

But I feel safe knowing that if i ever have a fender bender...they will be there for me.

They were both unmarked and working as a team to provide entertainment because they were bored, figured that you were bored. One radioed to the other, "Wanna spice things up for this guy?". The other said, "Sure, pass him in a curvey no passing zone, that oughta shake him up a bit, and if anyone else does it too, you high tail out of here, I'll pull them over, and we'll meet down the road and do it all over again and make a few extra $$$ to pay for our lunches".

Happens all the time. Grin.

I was headed to my high school graduation there was a power stroke behind me. I was goin 65 in a 55 so he deecided I was going to slow and passed me. Not a mile further down the road I saw this car pull a U in the road and pull the truck over. 10 minutes or so after I get in the parkin lot at the school here the power stroke comes rollin in.

Michigan used to have a limit of 110,000 LBS. years ago. Thats why you saw trucks/trailers with so many axles under them- to spread the load out.
