Restoring steering wheel.

I'm sure the suggested materials would work fine. However the Eastwood company sells a restoration kit for steering wheels. If you care to check it out. eastwood.com

Along the same thoughts----has anyone applied Grip and Guard or Plasti-dip to a filled wheel for refurbishing rather than restoring? I think it would give a nice comfortable feeling for use.

It helps to pour a rust preventer on first. I did my Farmall with PC7 two part cans. I had lots of cracks so I coated it good then with a wet rag smoothed as much as possible to prep for final sanding. I have yet to paint it but will use an enamel with hardener called 1-shot lettering paint because it is UV resistant for outdoor sign lettering. It feels so much better in your hands now. Eventually I expect the underlying rust to cause lifting but I have enough epoxy to do it again. PC7 was nine bucks.
