case David Brown 380 landscaper 885/41

Hi All:

Great forum! Very informative....
I have a chance to buy a Case 380 landscaper 885/41
637002, it also has 1101014 on the fender. It is yellow and has a powerful loader. The 3 pt lift works sometimes perfectly and will not lower at all other times. Unknown hours, broken meter, but probably a lot. He wants 4k for the tractor. I have no idea what it worth or the cost to get it in good shape. seems to run fine. It has a diesel engine. I am also concerned about parts availability? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Todd

Parts are readily available if you know where to look. Good little tractors. By that serial number it was made 1976. It is basically an 885 DB with a heavier loader, front axle and likely an auxiliary hydraulic pump for the loader.

As for the 3 point hitch? Probably needs the hydraulic system cleaned out as I bet there is water in it.

$4k sounds pretty steep unless it is really nice. Broken tach, unknown hours, and hydraulic issues disqualifies it as being really nice in my book.

Have a '68 4600 gas which if I understand correctly is the import version of the 880. From what I have been by people who have had them they are good units. Solid little economical diesel, good drive train, good hydros. I have the same instance with my three point, I catch myself with levers in the wrong spot. Parts available through CNH. Bounce this ? off the Case guys next door.
