I have a 3400 Ford, mid-sixties, tractor and I installed a rebuilt injector pump. It has a 1-2-3 firing order and I need help with timing it. I don"t know which cylinder is #1. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Thanks, John

Which pump? CAV or Simms?
On a CAV at least unless you have had the timing cover off you don't need to retime anything. The pump shaft is indexed to the gear and will only go on one way.
The timing gear is held captive in the timing cover so it can not fall out or lose time.
There are timing marks on the top right pump ear and the plate that the ear bolts to. Set the timing mark on the pump to 1 line down from zero on the plate. Done!
Dunno about a Simms but I suspect they are about the same.
