I bought a Sun growler this past weekend and it seems to work ok,but I have a question about 1 feature on it. This one has a meter on it that says armature coil output. It also has a small lever just to the side of the v-blocks, with a metal button that looks like it would ride on the commutator when pushed ahead. Does that sound correct?Do you need to rotate it as it touches?Didnt want to try it and burn something out. Thanks in advance

I can't help you with that special feature on your growler, but I would GOOGLE the model # and "manual" and see if I could find an instruction manual in this manner.

I never used a growler with a meter either but have seen instructions for using them, I believe it was in a Case service manual. Supposed to be able to detect partially open windings which are difficult to detect with a regular growler like I have. A growler is used primarily to determine if any windings are shorted to one another by using the old hack saw blade test.
