I cut hay all afternoon. Had to wear a flannel shirt. Stiff northeast breeze was kinda nippy.

That's just brutal. I complain about our 4 to 5 month winters, but I couldn't take that. You don't get some relief from the hot & dry soon, you folks will be in a desert.

When the hurricane was reported 10 days or so ago I was hoping it would go up your way because you need the water.
Maybe a smaller tropical storm will make it up to Texas. I know it is terrible.

It was 111* when I left my Parents Farm in Karnes City today. Came home to a cool 110*. I don't think many will be tractor pulling next month if the weather doesn't break.

Hi Billy,
I live about 7 miles from Randolph AFB and the news said it was 113* too. To dang hot for me. There saying we have a 30% chance of rain later in the week. Unfortunatally I live in the 70% that usually doesn"t see any.

it was 111* on my front porch in Sheridan,Tx
feels like the sun is hoverin about 4 miles over us instead of the normal 5 miles up...guessterologists are sayin 40-60% chance of t-storms by end of week...i aint holdin my breath

this is a truck that is stuck on a county road---going 30 and the bottom dropped out----dust and sugar sand-the red river is just about dry here. 100+ so many days that I've lost count..less than 2 inches rain for the entire year since september last year.

I can remember just a few years ago Lake Travis was very low. Perdenales River was dry. Is it like that again?

Hay_Man, Thanks for asking! Lake Travis is full at 680ft, Currently 634ft, all time low during the drought of the 50s is 614ft.
Even though I am on well water myself it still scares the fright right out of you to think what will happen if & when it drops too much lower! The pressure on the local aquifers is at an all time high. The entire state is Red on the drought maps.
Yes the Perdenales river is all but dry.
Ya'll just keep us down here in your Prayers, at Home and at Church, Civic events, etc, etc!

We"re right there with you. Dallas area is a few days away from breaking the all time record for days of 100 or better.

The spring at the farm is down to a small trickle. Went to look at the pond Sunday. It was lower than I"ve ever seen it, but not as bad as I expected.

The good news is forecast for today at the farm shows 80% chance of rain. Radar map has a large cloud bank moving right over. Hopefully, we"ll get more than a sprinkle this time.

I had a place in Llano County for a time. I heard on the radio news that bottled water was being hauled into Llano for the folks there to drink. I guess the Llano River is drying up, too.
