deere 215 double offset disc

You guys think a 4020 Deere would pull a 14 foot Model 215 double offset disc in most consitions? It has 20 inch discs. Set up like a tandem with four gangs not like most offset discs with 2 long gangs.

Just watched a couple videos in youtube of a New Holland 115 handling this disc pretty well, but it appears to be a 4 wheel drive and 115 hp, no duals though. My tractor is about 90 hp. I don't think this model must be as hard to pull as a normal offset disc. Appreciate the reply.
 
I don't think a 215 is a offset disc it is a tandem disc.

A 4020 will pull a 14' tandem disc all day long here in SE Iowa.

We pulled a 14 foot disc with IH560 for many years back in the early 60's.

A 4020 has 10 to 20 HP on a 560.

Gary, its not the typical X configuration of a tandem, they are kind of offset and dont line up.

That is not an offset disk. The disk gangs do over lap to cut out the center completely. I think your JD 4020 should pull a JD 215 easily is anything other than plowed ground. Then you just would need duals
 
A buddy of mine has a disc just like that accept it is 16 foot I believe and it works the snot out of his 4020, but the 4050 handles it fine.
 
I agree with the others; that's just a tandem disk. It appears to have 'cone' blades on it?? In our soil, it would be a LOAD for a 4020. When our 4020s were new, a 12 ft AW, BW, 2300 A-C, etc, was considered a good match.
 
Run! You can pull it easy enough though. I know all disc look almost the same but IHC makes the best disc don't even think about getting a 9 inch spacing with those cone blades. You might want to make your ground smooth and level. get a 15 ft IHC with 7 in spacing, and 20 in blades. like a 370. we pull one with a 4040 JD witch is a newer 4020. Vic
