I have a C that I just bought and the plugs in it are very old Firestone plugs,any one know what to use in it?thank you.

My 1948 I&T Shop Book says AC-75 with 7/8" thread, gap at .020". Conversion chart shows Champion 1 Com. Firestone S80 or SH80. But this book's data seems to cover only the 1937-1939 tractors with a 260 CID engine. From an alternate source, I find in a piston ring catalog the C has the same 3-7/8" bore 1929 - 1938. There is no C listed for 1928. Or 1939 either for that matter. If your Firestone number differs from the above, I may be able to translate to another brand for you. Jerry

First, Jerry is correct. The model C wasn't built in 1928. It didn't come out until '29, and production ended in '39 with the introduction of the Model D. Assuming your tractor has a 6 digit serial number, take the first and fourth digit of the serial number and subtract 3. That will give you the correct year.

Second, the Model C uses an Autolite 3077 spark plug. You can buy them for $4.00 each on John Saeli's website. John's a great Case guy. He won't do you wrong.

Thank you I will have to look at the serial # the man i got it from is a friend and he has owned it since 59 if it is a 28 what model would it be and I will try and put in a pic,thank you.

They didn't build the C in 28. Prior to 1929, Case was still selling the Crossmotor tractors. Come back with the serial number, and some pictures. We'll point you in the right direction.

No, it would make it a 1930. On a six digit serial number, you take the first and fourth digits, put them together, and subtract 3.

308303 = 33 - 3 = 30 1930
