I have a cousin that lives on the Broad river between Gaffney and Blacksburg, S.C. Guess he's getting plenty rain......

Hay_Man,

It's probably not as hot or dry here in Middle Tennessee as it is in Texas, but it is plenty hot and plenty dry here too.

I just came in from working on a fence line. Not done yet, but I had to have a break. The temperature is mid-90 again today with no chance of rain. My pastures are completely burned up. They are nothing but dirt and some weeds.

A few days ago, I started feeding a little bit of hay to the cows and the horses. They're gobbling it down. This is the third consecutive year that we've had oppressive heat and drought.

I've culled some my herd but it looks like I'm going to have to sell off some more of them.

Pray for rain.

I spent april and may in Victoria Texas working on the cat
plant and we only got rain one day. I didNt rain often but
when it rains it pours. Feel sorry for the farmers down that
way.

Not sure what part of our wonderful state your in, but judging from the blue rocking horse in one picture I'm guessing the north west part.
We got 3/4" yesterday, been a long time since we had anything. This was a sea breeze that blew in and dropped anchor about the time it got here so we got quite a bit.
Weather guessers this evening say next week around Wednesday there will be more, chance is good 3 days in a row and it showed it will go across about 2/3 of the state on Friday! Yea, I know it's just a guess but hey.........cross your fingers!
Everything greened up today quick, but the humidity is out of control now. Tommorow they say it will be over 100 and drier, yuk. The good part, tonight it drops down to 75. Been a while since it was that cool anytime day or night!
Labor Day is almost here, then it should start the cool down...........crossing my fingers!

Crossed Fingers for sure. I was on my West Texas run on I-20 coming into Midland when I hit that dust storm. I think it finally did rain a little that night out there. I usually stay a day or two then make my run back to East Texas where our place is. Really dry and parched here south of Canton, north of Athens. It has rained more in the desert of West Texas than it has here. There have been huge Dust Devils out there. I can see several pulling dirt thousands of feet into the sky. Looks like a tornado without a cloud. Biggest ones this year that I've ever seen. This one was a smaller one, around Colorado City. I haven't been able to get a picture of the real big ones I've seen.

Yep, I felt it. It turned off a little cooler this morning. Felt like a little less humidity. The news said Irene sucked a little dry air from our high pressure system here, weakening her a little and causing a small change in the weather dynamics. We have more of a chance of rain for next week.........
