Half Century of Progress Farm Show

Im headed to Ohio this (Sat) AM and posted this on JD also.

I enjoyed the show. Im used to shows where I walk past and just look at exhibits, here they use them for us to enjoy. For sure they need to better police and control golf carts practically in the way of pickers and combines etc as someone will get hurt someday otherwise. I saw one "Dude" in a new shiny expensive 4x4 mule who had to show off and be in the best spot blocking others viewing, drive right across furrows and was so close that the picker had to stop and tell him to back away. It seems its always the biggest brightest most expensive mule drivers who seem they have to be closest to the action even if its dangerous, blocks others view, ITS ALL ABOUT THEM, Im sure you all know the type Im referring to lol

They also need one gate reserved with signs way down the entrance road for people who have already paid and registered sdo they can drive in and not have to wait in the pay line again.

All in all a GREAT show and thanks to all who worked so hard I'LL BE BACK I have to drive to Ohio this AM (Saturday) however.

Hi Tim and Adrian and Chuck, nice meetin yall

I too enjoyed the show. Also I agree more control on the golf carts. The worst disappointment was the schedule was not defined. All it said was field demonstration and not what was being demonstrated at what time. We wanted to se the plowing but that was delayed until the Kinze shown was over. Didn't come to see the Kinze show.
We started asking different people at 10 AM when the plowing would begin and where and did not get an answer that worked until we were at the gate to leave.
We will think twice before going back. Orginally my buddy and I were thinking of each bring a tractor and an implement next show but when the participants didn't know were to go it bothered us.

I totally agree with the comments about the golf carts, mules, and ATVs. I did not go to the show this year (but went to all previous shows.) The danger with the carts, mules and ATVs got worse each year. It was virtually impossible to get into the tents etc., due to the carts blocking access. If they ever prohibit the use of golf carts, mules, and ATVs, I may consider going back in the future but not as long as the carts are allowed.

The schedule has always been a problem. No one seems to know what is going on where, and how to get there. Even the people driving the tractors on the people haulers are unaware of what is happening.
