Today's 'Fore and After

Yeah, I know.

By today's standard this would seem 'cumbersome', but for those of us who lived thru the days of the 'bolt 'em on and bolt 'em off' loaders, this 2-3 minute operation feels pretty darned good. :>)

Hi Guy,

No, I keep brackets on both tractors all the time anyway so I can swap back and forth depending on what I'm doin'.

That 1066 works nice when I'm hauling manure; it's heavier and can really push into the stuff. :>)

Hardest part of the whole mess is threading all those long hoses in between the cab mount and the axle and making sure they are tied up out of the way of that right tire.

Little easier than the Farmhand isn't it?
You're doing good if you have it off and on in 3 minutes. My Ford still requires two bolts and that probably takes more like 10 min...
But I also drop the joystick off most of the time and that's 2 more bolts.

Yep my fathers massy ferg has that same system.. Works great.. I hate having a loader on a tractor while haying.. just me though...

I'd like to rig a quicker way to take the 148 off/on my 3020. It didn't come w/ parking stands.

I'm trying to decide between making stands/brackets or reinforcing a section of shed rafters to hoist it w/ a chain hoist. Also thinking about extending my hydraulic lines and clamping/weighting the bucket down and using the hydraulics to lift the end that needs to bolt.

Any ideas, suggestions, or close ups of your rig Allen?

The 148 used a U-shaped piece for a "parking stand"- but you still needed to remove 8 bolts. I found that removing the bucket was almost as good as removing the loader, for making the tractor more nimble. Leaving the boom on was no bother for most jobs. I bought a quik-tach for the bucket, so removal was fast. Adapted both bale forks so they mounted on the quik-tach or 3pt.

If the cab stays on year round couldn't ya put shorter hoses on and add remote fittings at the cab ?
