A friend has a central unit blower that is a four speed 110V.
How can this fan be hooked up, enabeling the selection of different speeds.
I know they are normally hardwired to supply a selected speed and, in the past, I have used a ( SPDT) switch?? to select High and Low speed, but this is a FOUR speed. and I would like to have a switch to select desired speed.

rotary switch with 4 poles. Rotating contact can be positioned to any one of 4 positions, or a 5th for OFF.

Many, many years ago I repaired window A/C's. I saved the old rotary selector switches. Usually they were 3 speed switches. I use them on furnace blowers to cool me down in the shop. Also put the largest fan on an old baby buggy wheels and use it to blow the dust out of the shop. Need to set the brakes or the buggy will move backwards.
