I am refering to the rear ender I gave to a Japenese car Friday, while towing my tractor. This almost happened again today, but I was way back this time and had time to stop in time. This car just decided to stop for no reason I could see. Then he statred up again. I adjusted my brake controller after that and had a lot more traiiler stopping ability. With this extra braking I believe I would have not hit that little piece of(fill in the blank) car. stan

Not trying to be funny at all, but since you are getting up there in maturity, you may consider keeping that thing adjusted and increase your following distance by 50 feet or so. You can't anticipate an idiot but you can give yourself a little more reaction time.............

Had a guy about 3 ft from my bumper yesterday when I was driving out of town. Stayed there til the end where cars were parked allowing only one thru at a time. I stopped and went back and asked what his problem was. He was on his cell phone having a nice visit and didn't even realize what he was doing.....

In Indiana if You hit someone in the back; It doesnt matter why! You owe them, & I think sometimes people do it on purpose to get insurance to pay for a vehicle thats well below normal value, & maybe some medical bills that will be greatly over inflated with things such as pain, & sufferage!

I pulled out of a parking space about 20 years ago, & backed into a parked black car in a non lighted parking lot. I hit it with an Chev. S-10 at a creep. 2 people in the car; I had witnesses they had no lights on well after dark parked perfectly accross my back end. Witnesses told police they couldnt have been hurt; 1 of them complained about neck, & back trouble. Ambulance takes them away. Eventually they soaked my insurance for over $30,000. Put about a 1/4 - 1/2 inch dent in their car door was all. I told their agent if I knew what they were going to do, I would have nailed them good (only after it was over)!!!

maybe, maybe not, too many variables still, like reaction time, road surface condition, flat or on a hill, ect, while the accepted rule is if you rear end somebody, its your bad, its also not right for some idiot to just throw on the brakes for a questionable reason right in front of you, it happens out here too, too many times the vehicle behind the idiot is a semi, who just cant stop just anywhere due to sheer weight in motion

Heck that happens all the time and people have been doing it for years! We had neighbor in the late 60's in NJ who would openly say about every 6 months......well it's tiem for another accident.

Stan, Time to buy a Santa Fe freight train siren(horn) for your truck! Not the fake-e-Do electric horns that are almost as good. get one that is air powered W/ electric solenoid horn button. Then Shower down on the little buzz buggies that get in front of you.They will get out of you way, then go home to get fresh under garments. WHY, do the majority of semis are now carrieing a set on their trucks,, to get ignorant folks out of their way!
