IS THERE 2 OR 3 BOLTS ON THE STARTER ON F150 4.6 ENG. ANYONE HAVE ANY EASY WAYS TO REPLACE THE STARTER. JIM

before you tear it apart . . .
check the wires going to the fuse holder in the fuse box first.
The green corrosion got my '02 wouldn't start.
cost $225. to find out what it was.

Another thing I ran into (AFTER ordering a starter, waiting a week to get it, replacing it and no starty starty) is the ignition switch on the column (PITA to get to) worked loose and sliddown. Would bump now and then and act just like a starter going/gone out. Bet you grab some tools and crawl under there you'll know PDQ how many bolts there are. Easiest way to change a starter is have someone else do it......

No easy ways but the 1/4 inch blade connector wire on the starter solenoid gets corroded with salt.Check that first.Ford had a repair kit that changed the connection to a ring terminal.

3 bolts. take a test light down there see if you have juice at the positive cable and at the solenoid small terminal while in crank position. Have also seen a lot of corrosion issues with the cables.
