4 months ago thieves hit our place three times breaking into containers stealing tools, batteries, and anything that they could lift. They even brought a battery and put in our mini excavator to load what they could not lift by hand. The last time they hit we found some of our stuff at a local scrap yard. Notified police. They got video footage of them bringing in our stuff, drivers license information, plate #s on vehicle used to haul(stolen plate). After two months we called the detective He says since the guy only got $200 for what he stole he could only charge him with a misdemeanor. He was going to wait until he could get him on a better charge. Gotta love it.

Yea but they were really helping out the environment by getting all that rusty metal off the ground......................

They got some stuff at shop whil eback ,,and also took supply hose off my fork lift ,,left full tank? go figure that out ? Anyways police filled out report asked how much $ they took . Figured nummber on that ,,then aslo figure hose cost , time it was going to take to track down new hose and time to install it . couple hours time at shop rate . Officer kinda balked at it at first then agreed and wrote that down in his report .

i thought it was for the cost of replacement not what he got at the scrap yard, kid here in town got busted red handed with some plates, they just looked like 1/2" plates with holes in them, only they were adaptors of some kind for a Catterpiller loader, so it put him in the felonly catagoury

If they could get him on the misdemeanor charge, why hesitate, he broke the law.

That's like saying, "we can get him for attempted murder or conspiracy to murder, but I was going to wait until he actually kills someone"

Get all over this officer, their department and the media, what the hell is wrong with these people, obviously its not an undercover job, where they are building a case, so I don't get it, is their any logical explanation from the police as to why he can't be charged now ? Anyone committing a misdemeanor around here would be immediately charged.

Had a neighbor get ripped of big time.Tv, Computor.Jewlery,Guns,Car. Flatbed Trailer. It was done while they were out of town. Sheriff came to ivestigate. Neighbor.started his own.Going to Pawn shop and spending time on arial survallance.Had is own plane and a friend had a chopper. finally spotted the car and trailer setting in a yard out in the boonies. Other item started showing up at Pawn shops. Finally caught the gang. Sheriff would do nothing. They were all under eighteen so the courts would let them off. Did get his property back as he had pictures and serial numbers, gitrib

If you file with your insurance company then the cops should be using what the insurance valued the loss at not what they "fenced" it for. Guy steals jewelery he gets charge when caught for the actual value not the price he gets at the pawn shop.

My co-worker had the back window on her car bashed out in her own driveway and the police said they won't come to the house and that she needed to call her insurance company.

I don't understand that at all. I live in Michigan, which is usually considered to be pretty abundant, but around here, if the cops can charge you with ANYTHING, they will. It might take them awhile to catch somebody, but they have a pretty good track record of putting people in jail. To the point of having the highest per capita incarceration rate in the US. I don't doubt that there is some selective prosection that happens, but it sure isn't the rule. Neighbor's son just got out of prison, got in a fight with somebody, and he had a previous juvenile record. 3 years for assualt. By the way, in a big boy prison!! Here, they would charge the guy, and when he does it again, charge him again, get him on parole violations, and being a "habitual criminal". That alone gets you some time with bubba.

That is good but.....I am a firm believer in the death penalty for murders and rapists. 1 bullet and you save $35k per year for the taxpayers.
Get it over with already.
Frontier justice is a good way to go, especially for the habitual offenders.

That is when you go to the biggest kid on the school football team and offer him money to kick the schitt out of those punks, cause an adult isnt supposed to.
