2005 Mahindra 4500

Amazing--noone knows anything about Mahindra..Is there a forum where I might get some thoughts? Thanks

There are two or three series of Mahindras. The originals were made from patents and prints of utility IH tractors.
From what I read, and from a little exposure to one, they are tough, and reliable. Like abything, the service, and parts are very important. Jim

Thanks-I have no clue about the series, the parts availability and/or service..I guess like everything else in life, it"s a gamble..

I've got a '02 Mahindra 6000...the 4500 is the same frame size but the 4500 is a 3 cyl version/ie. the pistons/stroke is same size/lenght but with one less...the engines were designed by AVL of Austria way back..good engines. Is the tractor 2wd or 4wd? Mine is 4wd and a loader..haven't found anything it can't do..I have about 485 hours on it now..Shrps74

Two wheel drive--I know 4WD would be a must with a loader but I plan to do just bush hogging and discing-less than 200 hrs - has a canopy-faded paint but basically like new--can"t get the guy to answer me about power steering--surely it has power steering..If not, I don"t want it at all.Service and parts concerns me--I guess Mahindra has been around long enough now that parts should be available. I assume it has locking differential also--something I"d want--even my 70 something Kubota has that..

It has both power steering and diff. lock...make sure if he won't say about the power steering that it is actually working....the 4500 has two separate hyd pumps in tandem//one for steering and one for 3pt.etc...pull up external_link and you can find the specifics...also google mahindra forums,,you will find more than one..shrps74
