Just a little venting!

Bought a new Woods three point 'rotary cutter' as they call it. The rest of us call it a 'Bush Hog'. The old one shucked the $860 gear box. Anyway, was mowing thistles on the CRP ground and I went over the spot where some machinery was parked at one time. You know what's coming next. The jackstand I left out there sheared a pin in the PTO and it ALSO MADE THE FIRST CIRCULAR SHAPED DENT IN THE DECK!!! There, now I feel better!! A bottle of Kellerweis dark beer helps take the edge off the pain too. Jim

My 5' John deere brushcutter has found quite a few immovable objects and has never broken anything. But it has a lot of dents and probably needs to be welded where its pushed in and broken on the back. Thats from pushing three inch saplings over. This implement has made me a lot of money. I have a Massey 135 diesel on it at $65 an hour.

If you are mowing canadian thistles now you are 45 days too late. You just replanted 2 million seeds. Spray in mid June and late Sep.
Grazon PplusD works well at 40 oz per acre.

I ran over a 6 inch well casing that stuck up about 10 inches with a 7 foot Bush Hog a couple of years ago at about half throttle with a 175 Allis. Stopped the tractor dead in its tracts. Didn't brake anything but sure woke me up.
