I watched most of the activities and I'm not much smarter but it sure was interesting.

This is Kremer well drilling from Mt. Pleasant IA. They came highly recomended and lived up to all expectations. We are about 100 miles from Mt. Pleasant but he said they get over here into IL all the time. Just after dinner they said they were going to drill one more pipe section and they were going to be done. There happened to be nine of us there to see them sink the last 20 feet.

This is Jack Kremer diligently watching the rig run the last few feet. Says we have over 30 gallon a minute of water. This well is deeper than most deep wells in the area. He said the deeper we went the into the limestone layer the more water we would get, so on to 695ft he went.

This is their drill rig. It was easy to see its a heavy outfit then we noticed it had no license plates. Seems as it weighs in excess of 70000lbs so they have to have a special permit to move it around. I didnt ask what it had for a engine but they added fuel to it while they were here.
So we have a hole with water in it. The pump guy will be here and install it, run the water line hook up the new waterer and we will be one step closer to having the feedlot ready for cattle.
It wasnt cheap but it is a nice piece of mind to know we shouldnt have any water supply issues.

Is that a 6in well? I saw one jetted in near me a few years ago. We don't have much rock here. 695 ft would be very deep here. 200ft is what most wells go. Of course, in some spots here you get water at 3ft!! ( Mid Michigan ).

The truck is not a vehicle so it is not licensed. It is defined as special mobile equipment. Vehicles are defined as designed to carry passengers or cargo. In Minnesota, as long as it only carries drill pipe and equipment used for drilling it is exempt. If it carried well casing then it would become a vehicle.

Up until two years ago that truck would not even had to be inspected in Minnesota. Now most special equipment over 26,000 lbs has to be inspected even though they are not licensed.

Glad to hear your venture was successful. 30 gal. a minute should keep you going for some time. We had to drill a new well about 30 years ago, 190 ft. and over 10 gal per minute. my pump won't pump that much!

They might be family of mine. My grandfather was a Kremer from near
Waterloo.

That spelling is fairly unique.

50 ft well here in gravel round 100 gpm, rigs only need SME plates in pa. also, rig I'm selling is only 30,000#, deep water well round here are round 275 to 300 depending where your at. we had to cement a 150 footer off cause it started to pumping crude oil drilled them a new to 50 ft.

Dang - I could've helped you on watchin a well driller drill!

Would have brought a friend for Wrigley too.
