Can anyone verify if a person could get pressed wheels on 1941 "A" from the factory? I had a slight altercation at a tractor pull last weekend they wouldnt let us pull stock. I'm almost positive you could order one from the factory with pressed steel. Any help/support/backup would help. Thanks in advance.

There was a variety of wheel equipment available on Deere tractors. Check your John Deere parts book. It's available on line and will show what wheel equipment was available on which serial nuimber tractors. You can print the appropriate page, which should end the arguments.

Pressed steel wheels were available for A's starting in 1939.

Like Paul said, look in the parts catalog at the attached link. Be patient, it takes awhile to download. When it does, go to page 110.

Seems they were available!

Actually it was probably the standard wheel as being cheaper than the cast but with people having the spoke wheels before and finding they lacked the weight for most heavy work they opted for the higher priced wheels so they would not have to mess with weights.
