The young lady on the 520 won by crossing the finish line last.

These are such fun to watch, and to participate in. There is one near here every year and it's usually the same John Deere 2 cyl that wins. Couple times a Super MTA torqued back and idled at about 50 rpm won it. Crazy how slow some of these will run.

I have an Allis G that in low gear at an idle will go just about as slow as any older tractor I have seen. Those OLD two cylinders tuned right with high octane gas will idle at under 100 rpm.

Guys this is one of those things I'm trying to figure out yet........you can tell me all you want it's about the mechanic and how good a job he did but so is drag racing and pulling......and I still don't have that figured out???????

Usually Coop-Cockshutt that will win because of the low-low first gear. That is why on a tractor pull they just keep going and going.

We always did really well with a JD 720 gas wheatland (shorter tires) that had some ultra-low first gear.

Garden tractor ones did really well with a 110 JD with a 8hp Kohler and the creeper guy.

Had a JD D that would idle ridiculously slow, the gearing wasn't any good for a slow race, but was very cool to hear.
