winter hobby

i spend all summer going to tractor shows and playing with my engines, when winter comes i switch gears to old skidoo snowmobiles, any one else into old sleds ,,,,,,,,i am always looking to buy old skidoo,s from the 60,s and 70,s,would trade farm stuff for the right ones ,,,would love to find a skidoo tin cab from 61,62

I have a '64 Ski Doo that needs a motor. I know of a tin cab one that is very rough, but I don't think that it is for sale because it is a locally famous one. Vintage sled races have really taken off here in recent years.

did it win a race that its famous,,if you want to get rid of the 64
shot me a email i have a motor ,have you ever been to the vintage
race in eagle river,i go every year its a good time,

I'm into old sleds a touch myself..

Up until about 2 years ago I had collected about 40 Deere sleds.. I sold most of them off.. have 4 left..

I also have 1 Ski-Whiz (Massey-Ferguson)

I have three in Minnesota at my folk's place, a '73 Ski Doo Olympique 340, a '76 John Deere 300, and a '71 Moto Ski Capri 338.

Then there are the two Ski Doos at my in laws in southwest Virginia, they don't get much snow there but when they do we have some fun. A '71 Ski Doo Elan 250, best light wieght bush beater there ever was. And a '68 Olympique "johnny cash special" made from parts, including a 10 horse Rotax I took from a sled I parted in about '83. Then I have a '69 Ski Doo Olympique down here in snowless Savannah, GA that I did ride in VA this past year. The '69 is totally gutted getting some new metal welded in under the seat and the in chassis tank cut open to be cleaned out.

Yeah, unusual hobby to have living in Georiga, but I am a displaced Minnesota guy re living his teenage years by actually fixing them unlike the way I destroyed them in my youth!

I frequent a couple vintage snowmobile boards, and write some articles for Vintage Snowmobiler magazine. I try and make it back to MN for a vintage ride or Waconia's rally each year. :)

I have a '73 John Deere 600 that I would like to get rid of. I messed up something in one cylinder when I took it apart to change gaskets. It's low on compression now, the other cylinder is fine at 150 psi. I can't find parts, and the weather in ohio sucks for snowmobiles most of the time. I would like to find a collector or vintage sled enthusiast that could use the good parts.

i at one time was up to 75 snowmobiles but am now down to about 12,and only collecting skidoo,s now and some race sleds,it gets in your blood just like tractors,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
