ot ...My wife came home today

To let you know what's been going on with my wife ...
she got to come home today after surgey Thursday on her kidney .. they did discover her Left kidney is no good because theres a big kidney stone { about the size of a golf ball } that basely shut it down ...
So in 6-8 weeks we go back and have it remove...
Sure is good to have her home again ...

THANKS for ALL the prayers that have been send ..
we aren't out of the woods yet .. but it's looking better ,.. and wife is feeling better ..

Glad to hear that your wife has a proper diagnosis, I have a possible kidney removal coming up and would you mind commenting on whether or not her doctors discussed the possiblity of robotic surgery? Thanks and our prayers are with you both.

Glad she's home and the outlook is good!

Actually, I came close to the same thing a year ago. I had a kidney stone that was too large to pass normally, but they were able to break it up with ultrasound. The doctor told me ahead of time that while I was out if the ultrasound didn't work, he'd have to make and incision somewhere in my back and go after it the hard way.

That was the second one I had broken up with ultrasound. Over the last 20 years, I've established a long history of kidney stones. I even passed one normally sitting in church during an Easter Sunday service. When the pain hit me, I knew what it was and that if I hung on for about 20 minutes it would go away. When we got home from church, I peed through a strainer and out popped a good sized kidney stone.

I'm taking medication now that's supposed to alter my chemistry enough to prevent kidney stones, but one still sneaks through every few years.

For some possible comfort, my wife had a kidney removed 5 years ago and she doesn't know the difference. She does anything she wants to do. Good luck to your wife.
