With the vast experience here, can any one give me a comparison or opinion of the Pride "pursuit" and the active care "prowler" handicap scooters? I need one for rough yard travel. About 2500 dollars each???
Well, it all most a tractor for an old guy....

I don't know anything those models, but I have a Pride Huricane ($5000). I think for rougher ground, bigger tires. I got the higher priced one because of the lighting package and high speed. I don't drive, and can get across town quicker. 9.7 MPH

I have a Quantum Jazzy 1420. It will take reasonable abuse. I use it all over the yard and in cow fields.

I have had two The first was a Jazzy with large pnumatic tires with good tread. Would go in the hay field and all around the yard. My son loaded it in the front of goose neck stock trailer and we went to the cattle shows. It is kind of like a mountain goat. It is a large chair and uses a lot of room. My second one is smaller and will turn in its own length and sharp corners. It is a simple latch that holds the seat on the wheels. Son an tale off the seat and load it in the back of the Dodge Caliber snd a way we go. Power and distance about the same. Both good depends on you. My experience is over 7 years.

Can't help you with the ones you mentioned, but I had a Pride PMV with the large tires that was a total piece of junk. I replaced it with an Active Care Osprey that I have owned for 2+ years and really like it. I weigh 275 pounds and drive it through the tilled garden, up and down hills, etc. top speed of about 9.5 mph. range of 20 to 30 miles. There are some for sale on Ebay at3600, with a make offer, and they will normally take around 2600 for them.

got a prowler,( for my then 96 yr old father) worked good for two years, then got very weak. My brother tryed to get it fixed. the first two dealers that the website listed that he called, denyed being prowler dealers, the third and forth tryed to fix it and falied. but he waited a total of 7 months for parts and paid $850.00 for parts that did not fix it. The local electric shop rewound tha motor and fixed it for me for $65.00. BY AMERICAN MADE FROM A LOCAL DEALER!!!!!!!

agree, but the problem is that there is only one company that makes them in America, and they do not make the larger outdoor scooter. Pride, Rascal, Active Care, etc. are all made in China.
