Well We Broke Another Weather Record!!!

Friday was the 20th straight day of 90+ degrees. The old record was 19 days in 1936 during the Great Dust Bowl. According to the National Weather Service at the IND Intl Aiprort. We did have some good rain in spots over the last few days. I only had about 1/3" in July.

The record is 22 days here in North Central Kentucky. That was set in 2007. Today is 21 in a row, and the forcast is calling for 90 degrees, but MAY not reach 90 because of cloud cover. Tomorrow they're calling for 94. Monday 95.

After dealing with all the heat, we might as well go ahead and break the record.

Even with temps ONLY reaching 90 today, the heat index is supposed to reach 110. Humidity and dew points are off the charts.

You Easterners need to get some of the experience on setting record 105+ degree days. I'll be glad if and when it gets down to 90 here in the desert of Tx in the daytime instead 90 at 3AM in the morning

If there's a silver lining in the dry conditions you all have now, it's NOT having the incredible HUMIDITY we're dealing with. Temps may be less, but it FEELS 15 to 25 degrees hotter than air temp. Walk out the door and you're soaking wet in minutes.

I'm waiting for dew to burn off so I can cut hay. Yesterday, even with this heat, my alfalfa was wet to the touch at 6PM.

And just to put ALL our weather in perspective, I heard it was 126 degrees (actual air temp) in Iraq 2 days ago. And we don't have to walk around in BDU's and body armor.

Speaking of Iraq, correct me if I'm wrong, but when we first went in there, didn't we time it so we could avoid the extremely hot summer? It was suppose to be a quick in and out.

That's what the media told us. And we all know how accurate the abundant talking heads tend to be....I don't think anyone with a reasonable grip on reality had expectations of a short stay.

Daughter had a job interview in Oklahoma City this last Thursday. Said it was over 100, but low humidity made it feel quite abit better than Omaha!
