implement tire on tractor fronts

If you are not using your tractor with a front loader, any issues with running implement tires as fronts? This is on a 4010 wide front deere.

Thanks

best way to go, even with loader (you can order 12 ply imp tires if desired). Won't tear up the yard as much when turning.

I have done it and only problem I have had has been they don't want to turn as good with something on the 3pt. It's very handy in the summer time when you have a flat with hay down to "borrow" an inplement tire and wheel off a disk or something that is not going to be used for a while, then you can go to town and get a new three or four rib on a day when it's rain'n.

My uncle planted several hundred acres of beans every year with a six row planter with out splitters till a few years ago. He had a set of implement tires and wheels that he would put on the planter tractor as soon as he got done with corn, swapped them when he changed meters. He found that double planting worked better with them when he turned and drove on two of the rows he just planted. He has since bought a planter with splitters.

Only problem you might encounter is the tires might just slide when attempting a tight turn on grass or a slightly muddy road, but the implement tires will not tear up the grass either.

I switched to implement fronts on my D19. Doesn't tear up the turf as much when turning with a bush hog.

I have used 8 ply off brand bias tires on the front of a loader tractor. I found the side wall would give out before the thread was wore out. Load range E radial pickup tires last much longer.I have 18 inch pickup tires mounted on John Deere combine wheels on the front now. Some shops will give away used 18 Inch pickup tires but sell 16 inch.

Implement tire will work. They do not tear hay ground as bad. You do need to get at least 8-10 ply tires. The side walls are the weakness. A implement tire is designed for static loads not side draft. I have seen them blow out while turning if you hit any thing that has a point or edge to them. New fresh rubber are the worst. If you do put Implement tires on try to use some that you have the the rubber is harder in due to age. The implement tires are sofe to give a better ride.

What I like better as an in between tire is a the multi rib steering tire. The ribs are more uniform than the three rib tires. These are made to be a steering tire so the side walls are stiffer. I have several sets on my chore tractors. They have held up well.

As all others have said, implement tire will work.

As also noted, works well for hay especially in grass fields.

One MAJOR drawback: don't plan on doing much snow removal with them on the front if you angle the blade. I had 11L15's on the front of my IH1066.

I am now using 32x11.50R15 LT tires on it. They do sit more flat on the ground than the implement tires and work much better using the loader on big round bales because they are more square on the edges. They also work somewhat better in the snow. DOUG
